DEEP BODY AND MIND RELAXATION
Acquabox is both a design masterpiece and a powerful tool for relaxation and well-being.
Water immersion is widely used as a supporting therapy for psychological and physical conditions, including anxiety and post-traumatic stress, as well as for cardiovascular conditioning, weight management, orthopedic rehabilitation, recovery and relief from chronic pain.
Inside the Acquabox, you hear almost nothing but your own breathing, heartbeat and thoughts. You can feel the power of your lungs: inhale and you gently float upward; exhale and you slowly sink down, in a delicate, natural dance.
If a shower can inspire great ideas, imagine what Acquabox can do. Its unique environment can help you disconnect from distractions, change perspective and open space for creativity.
For people whose work demands vision, concentration and original thinking, regular Acquabox sessions can become a powerful part of their personal routine.
The aquatic environment produces physiologic changes that help to expel metabolic waste, improve cardiac function, lower blood pressure, and assist the body in tissue healing.
Hydrotherapy increases the heart rate while lowering blood pressure, whereas other forms of exercise raise it. Immediately after a person is immersed, water begins to exert pressure on the body, and the cardiac output increases by 32%, at rest. Water may be the ideal cardiovascular conditioning medium.

Hydrotherapy helped improve sleep patterns. The participants weight was also reduced by an average of 3.75lbs. The subjects lost over one pound per week, just by soaking in a spa.

HOW IT STARTED
Swiss multi-artist Maurizio Mancioli designed the Acquabox in the late 20th century, inspired by science-fiction films, childhood memories of scuba-diving with his father, and a desire for deep relaxation, weightlessness and suspended time.
Originally created for his own well-being and as an art installation at his home in São Paulo, the Acquabox soon attracted people who wanted one of their own.
Maurizio then refined the design through years of testing, working with specialist suppliers and technologies around the world. The result is a minimalist piece of art and engineering, with many hidden features designed for a profound experience.
Today, Acquabox is installed in private homes and spas. Maurizio personally supervises each project, from development to installation, ensuring both a seamless experience and perfect architectural integration.

TECH
-
Acquabox is the result of years of testing and research, combining advanced materials with world-class technology.
-
Its main component, the capsule, is made of fully recyclable acrylic by a company specialized in large-scale projects, including public sea aquariums. For safety, the acrylic shell is over-engineered in thickness. The capsule carries a 10-year warranty.
-
The typical Acquabox is a cylinder 120 cm in diameter and 300 cm tall. Custom shapes and dimensions are also possible.
-
Acquabox uses advanced water-treatment technologies, including chlorine-free options, depending on the customer's needs. These systems benefit both the user and the environment.
-
The energy-saving heating system has a thermostat and quickly and silently reaches the desired temperature. It can be activated remotely by smartphone through an optional automation system.
-
The air supply is provided by a medical-grade compressor. It is silent, safe for breathing and allows hours of use.
-
A high-quality sound system provides clear, immersive music during the experience.
-
The Acquabox is protected by international patent #MU8400398-7 (pending).
INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
-
Floor strength: when filled, the Acquabox weighs approximately 3,400 kg. In apartment buildings, and some houses, structural reinforcement will most likely be necessary.
-
User access: access to the top should be easy and comfortable, from a mezzanine or via stairs.
-
Shower and WC: should be located on the access floor, very close to the Acquabox entrance. Water immersion has a diuretic effect, so users may need to use the bathroom during or after a session.
-
Sunlight: the acrylic capsule should not be exposed to direct sunlight, especially around midday, as this may affect its integrity over time.
-
Machine room: can be up to 20 meters from the Acquabox base. It should be approximately 1 cubic meter, ventilated and sound-insulated.
-
Compressor room: the breathing-air compressor can be installed in the machine room if it is properly ventilated and sound-insulated. Ideally, it should be placed on the access level, in a separate room with an acoustic cabinet
